For 8 intense days you will be amazed by the granite towers that give the park its name, the legendary Francés Valley, or the striking Grey Glacier seen from the John Garner mountain pass where the ice blends into the clouds on the horizon. An experience that will take your breath way.

Day 01:   Santiago                                                                                                                         

Welcome to Chile!

Upon your arrival to Santiago airport. Condor Travel’s staff will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Please look for the sign with your name on it.

Dynamic and cosmopolitan Santiago is a vital and versatile city. Home to many events showcasing the very best of Chilean culture, it also hosts superb international festivals of sound, flavor and color. The Chilean capital breathes new life into all its visitors!

The city’s diversity shines through in its many contrasting neighborhoods. Set out to explore the city streets and you’ll discover beautiful and original art galleries, design shops and handicraft markets, as well as a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. Night owls can enjoy a taste of lively Latino nightlife in hip Bellavista!

Day 02:   Santiago to Punta Arenas                                                                                                                       (B)

After breakfast, get ready for flying to Punta Arenas. A private transfer will take you to the airport on time.

Upon your arrival to Punta Arenas, your driver will escort you until Puerto Natales, your next destination.

Puerto Natales is the gateway to the Torres del Paine National Park and outdoor adventure in the Patagonia region. The small town is located on the Señoret Channel along a scenic fjord, set against the dramatic backdrop of the southernmost peaks of the Andes. As a tourist hub, you’ll be able to find great food, supplies, and more to fuel up for your trek, along with local attractions to explore.

Overnight at Puerto Natales

 Important: A mandatory briefing must be given before starting your trekking program. Here you will get all your vouchers, entrance fees and all the details needed to start your trekking program. Remember to visit Manuel Rodríguez 83, Puerto Nataes. The office is open until 18:30 hrs. You also can take the briefing and collect your vouchers at morning before starting your program.

 Day 03:   Transport from Torres del Paine National Park and Hike to Serón Campsite                   (B, BL and D)

Today make sure of being at 6:30 hrs. at Puerto Natales bus station. (Avenida España 1455, Puerto Natales) to take the 7 AM departure to reach Torres del Paine.

You will enter the park through the Amarga Lagoon Checkpoint, where you need to show your ticket and then take a bus to Cerro Paine Reserve’s Welcome Center. There, you will enjoy the striking silhouettes of the Torres del Paine and Almirante Nieto mountains, and your first hike will begin. It will lead you through a huge lenga beech forest draped with lichen called “old man’s beard.” After going through the forest, in the distance you will behold a large valley covered by daisies and bordered by the Paine River on the right. The river will accompany you during the second half of your hike until reaching Serón Campsite, where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 04:   Hike to Dickson                                                                                                               

This will be a long but unforgettable day of hiking. The first part of the trail will take you up and down the slopes of Paine Hill, where you will feel the power of the wind. You will then begin your descent and walk along the shore of the Paine Lake, which on clear days acts as a mirror for the mountain peaks around it. If the weather is good, you will be able to see the northeast peak of the Paine Massif, including peculiar shapes and silhouettes such as Cabeza del Indio, Escudo, Cubo and Dickson.

You will spend the night in the Dickson sector, located by the glacial lake next to the Southern Ice Fields that give this sector its name.

Day 05:   Hike to Los Perros                                                                                                           

Today you will begin to go towards the southwest. Along the way, you will see the Dickson glacier falling into the lake of the same name. You will enter a beautiful lenga beech forest, where you will see Magellanic woodpeckers tapping the beech trees.

Right in the middle of the forest, you will find a clearing. Stop there for a moment to look forward and backward and you will be able to see glaciers in both directions. Amazing!

Further on, you will cross Los Perros Glacier, with incredible views of its lake. Thirty minutes later you will arrive at Los Perros Campsite, located in a quiet, ancient forest.

Day 06:   Hike to Grey Glacier                                                                     

Today will probably be the most exhausting but also the most spectacular day of your trip.

Warning: there will be slippery and swampy terrain, as well as steep climbs and descents. You must leave Los Perros early in the morning. On the first part of the trail you will cross through swampy land followed by a long, steep climb to the windy John Gardner mountain pass. Once up there, the breathtaking view will make you feel quite small.

Right in front of you will be one of the huge tongues of the Southern Ice Fields, filled with cracks and ice of the rarest shades of blue and green.

A landscape where you do not know where the glacier ends, and the clouds begin. After a short break, a long descent through the rocks will begin, to then go around the Grey Glacier, which will be within sight all the way to the Grey Lake. A few kilometers past “El Paso” site, you will cross two impressive suspension bridges over 50 meters long that cross huge gorges, o ering an amazing view of the Grey Glacier, a scene that is hard to forget.

Day 07:   Hike to Paine Grande Sector                                                                                          

The day begins with one of the icons of the circuit, the Francés Valley. You will start early with a light hike to the Italiano Campsite. From there, you will begin the climb through the woods (about 2 kms.) up the Francés River Valley. We will continue to the Francés Lookout Point, where you will enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the circuit, the view to the valley framed by the Paine Grande, Catedral, Hoja, Máscara, Espada, Aleta de Tiburón and Cuerno del Norte mountains. The beauty of the landscape will take your breath away. After a short stop you will begin the descent to the Paine Grande Sector.

Highest: 388 mt.

Day 08:   Hike to Valle del Francés                                                                                      

On this day you will visit another one of the most iconic and magical places in the park, the striking Francés Valley.

The hike will begin with an easy walk towards the Italiano Campsite. There, you will begin the climb up through the valley and then reach the “Francés Lookout Point” after 1.5 hours. Up there, you will see one of the hanging glaciers of Paine Grande Mountain up close and, if you are lucky, you will witness an icefall (avalanche). With that impressive sight still in your mind, you will cross through a lenga beech forest leading to the Británico Sector.

Get ready, this might be the only time in your life when you will enjoy such a sight: the magnificent Francés Valley flanked by its colossal mountains and granite walls. Their unique shapes and colors will astound you.

On the way back, you will use the same trail until you arrive at Italiano Campsite. Then, you will turn east towards Frances campsite where you will spend the night.

Day 09:   Hike to Central Sector                                                                                          

With the spectacular Cuernos del Paine to your left and the colors of the Nordenskjöld Lake to your right, you will walk towards Central Sector. This day the hike will be more relaxed, there Will not be steep slopea and the journey will be shorter and faster than the days before. A few kilometers before reaching the Central Sector, you will leave Los Cuernos behind to go around Almirante Nieto Mountain (2,670 m), a massif with a changing climate.

At night, just like throughout the rest of your adventure, you will be able to enjoy the relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere at the Central Sector, have a cold beer and share your experiences and stories with other hikers. If you feel tired after so many days of dicult hiking, you can stop by the Hotel Las Torres Spa for a well-deserved massage or to try the famous cordero al palo (spit-roasted lamb). These services are not included in the program.

Duration: 4 to 5 hours 14 kms

Difficulty: Medium

Elevation gain: 200 m

Day 10:   Hike to Base las Torres                                                                                

You will depart early to one of the parks iconic landmarks, the Las Torres Base Lookout Point.

During the first stretch, you will walk through the pampas, cross the Ascencio River and then climb 3 kms up to Los Vientos Mountain Pass, where you will enjoy amazing views of the valley and lakes. You will continue your hike to the Chileno Mountain hostel and then pass through a lenga beech forest up to La Morrena, where the hardest part of the hike begins.

After a short stop you will follow a rock trail to the spectacular Las Torres Base Lookout Point to enjoy the grandeur of the South Tower (2,850 m), the Central Tower (2,800 m) and the North Tower (2,600 m). Later, you will begin the descent to the Central Sector where you will take the bus back to Puerto Natales at 7pm.

Duration: 7 to 9 hours 19,5 km

Difficulty: High

Altitude initial: 126 mt.

Highest: 870 mt.

The program will finish at Puerto Natales bus station. Make your own way back to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 11:   Puerto Natales to Santiago                                                                                                                   

Based on your flight schedule, your driver will collect you on time to reach Punta Arenas Airport.

Upon your arrival to Santiago airport. Condor Travel’s staff will be waiting to take you to your hotel. Please look for the sign with your name on it.
